How does Meta actually charge?

Meta bills per 24-hour conversation, not per message. If a customer messages you and you have a 40-message back-and-forth over 6 hours, that counts as ONE conversation (in the "service" bucket = FREE since Nov 2024). If you send a marketing template message, that opens a "marketing" conversation for 24 hours.

Why do BSPs charge on top of Meta?

Meta doesn't sell direct to most SMBs — you must go through a "Business Solution Provider" (BSP) like Wati or 360dialog. BSPs give you the API access + dashboard + support in exchange for a monthly fee and (usually) a percentage markup on Meta's rate.

Which mix is right for my business?

Salons / dentists / clinics: ~70% service + 25% utility (reminders) + 5% marketing. Restaurants: ~50% service + 30% utility + 20% marketing (promotions). E-commerce: ~40% service + 35% utility (order updates) + 25% marketing (abandoned cart, promos). Adjust the sliders.
